경제학과

김명수 교수는 부산대 경제학과 졸업 후 서울대학교에서 도시계획학 석사, 미국의 펜실베니아주립대학교에서 경제학 석사 및 박사학위를 취득하였다. 현재 가톨릭대학교 경제학과 교수로 재직 중이며, KDI(한국개발연구원) 감사와 한국건설경제산업학회 회장, 한국 ESG학회 부회장 등을 엮임하였다. 대통령직속 일자리위원회(건설분과위원장), 국무총리실 국정과제 평가지원단, 기획재정부 재정사업평가위원회, 국토교통부 중앙도시계획위원회, 업무성과평가위원회(건설수자원분과위원장), 중앙건설분쟁조정위원회, 투자심사위원회 등에서 활동하였다. 그리고 건설공제조합, 기계설비건설공제조합, 건설근로자공제회의 운영위원, 비상임 이사로 활동한 바 있다. 활발한 활동으로 대통령 표창(2020), 국토교통부 장관 표창 등을 수상한 바 있다. 
 국토연구원에서 건설경제, SOC 투자, 건설산업구조 관련 연구 등을 수행하였다. 건설보증과 금융, 중소건설업 육성, FTA를 통한 해외건설 확대, 입찰계약제도, SOC투자의 국민경제 파급효과, 건설기능인력 등 다양한 연구논문과 저서를 발표하였다. 국가산업단지, 주택과 토지, SOC 스톡추계 등 도시경제 관련 연구도 수행해오고 있다.

Professor Myungsoo Kim graduated from the Department of Economics at Pusan National University, obtained a master's degree in Urban Planning from Seoul National University, and earned a master's and Ph.D. in Economics from Pennsylvania State University in the United States. He is currently a professor in the Department of Economics at The Catholic University of Korea. He has also served as an auditor at the Korea Development Institute (KDI), president of the Korean Construction & Economy Industry Association, and vice president of the Korean ESG Association.
Professor Kim has been actively involved in various governmental committees, including the Presidential Committee on Job Creation (as chair of the construction subcommittee), the Prime Minister’s Office's National Agenda Evaluation Support Team, the Ministry of Economy and Finance's Project Evaluation Committee, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport's Central Urban Planning Committee, the Performance Evaluation Committee (as chair of the construction and water resources subcommittee), the Central Construction Dispute Mediation Committee, and the Investment Review Committee. His extensive contributions have been recognized with awards such as the Presidential Commendation (2020) and the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Award.
